Bishop's Stortford Civic Federation

The Currey Award ceremony for 2011 took place on 10 November at the Ferguson Centre, Bishop's Stortford College.

The winner was "The Windhill Churches Centre"

Barker Associates were appointed to provide project management, quantity surveying, structural engineering , design and CDMC services.

This is a unique scheme providing a shared community facility for two separate church clients working together.

The site was very restricted with access only being available via a pedestrian footpath and temporary access across a monastery garden and through a Solicitors car park. The site was also surrounded by mature trees which had to be protected at all times. The design of the new building is very sympathetic within its setting.
