Barker Associates and EO Consulting jointly sponsored the Creativity Prize at this year’s Ormiston Academies Trust Annual Awards. The Awards now in their fifth year recognise and celebrate the achievements of exceptional students and teachers from across the Trust’s 38 primary and secondary schools.
The Creativity Award was presented to two outstanding students, Posy O’Rourke, Year 12 pupil of City of Norwich School and Isla Jade Nelson, Year 6 pupil of Herman Academy.
The award win follows Posy’s impressive growth within the creative arts, which has included an appearing in every drama production the school has staged - from performing a harrowing role in ‘Parade’, to comic relief starring in ‘Betty Blue Eyes’. Posy is an active member of theatre groups within Norwich and has appeared in the Echo Youth Theatre’s production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, as well as performances at The Garage Theatre. Posy tutors younger pupils at school in drama and teaches a regular youth theatre group for young people in the local community. Outside of theatre, Posy is a proficient violinist, an enthusiastic member of the school choir and a talented artist.
Isla Jade Nelson excels in all aspects of expressive arts but demonstrates particular talent in the field of dance. Isla Jade is committed to achieving her dream of becoming a professional dancer and demonstrates her clear determination by attending numerous dance lessons after school and at weekends, as well as travelling around Great Britain to take part in national competitions, alongside continuing to complete her school work to a high standard.
Stuart White, Managing Partner, Barker Associates and Jonathan Coyles, Director, EO Consulting expressed their pleasure at celebrating the achievements of Posy and Isla Jade along with rest of the pupils and staff who make Ormiston Academies an enriching and inspiring environment to learn.
Both Barker Associates and EO Consulting have been part of Ormiston Academies Trust’s journey providing estates support to the Trust to ensure all students and staff develop in modern, compliant and sustainable buildings.
