Barker Associates procured and managed the refurbishment of Harrow School's Grade II Listed Headmaster's House building. The works comprised major window repair and redecoration. replacement roof coverings, overhaul and rationalisation of the existing lighting conductor system, major repairs and redecoration to the Headmaster's rear balcony, re-pointing of front parapets and Georgian gables, replacement of rainwater and soil vent pipes and renovation and redecoration of external railings to the building's frontage.
Careful assessment and logging of vast window splice, resin repairs and sash replacements was undertaken by Mitre Construction.
The erection and striking of scaffolding was successfully undertaken and stringently managed on a live school site, with an active High Street to the building's frontage.
Future proofing of roof maintenance was incorporated within the design via a successful Listed Building Application to incorporate a man-safe system and openable roof lighting.
Delivery of the projects was overseen by Barker Associates and carefully organised to minimise disruption to the occupants of the building which is used as accomodation for both students and staff of Harrow School.
