Barker Associates procured and managed the refurbishment of Harrow School's Grade II* Listed War Memorial Building. The works comprised major window repair and refurbishment plus rewiring and redecoration to key rooms.
A detailed survey of metal windows and stained glass was completed to inform the design and specification and works were completed by Ark Stained Glass.
The lighting scheme was designed to incorporate modern LED fitting to allow different colours and moods to be achieved. This also minimised the impact of the the electrical installation on the historic fabric whilst improving the flexibility of the spaces for different uses. Electrical works were completed by Instalec.
Internal redecoration was then completed including overhaul and repair of historic timber panelling. The decoration work was completed by Bakers of Danbury.
Delivery of the projects was overseen by Barker Associates and carefully phased to minimise disruption to the ongoing operation of the building which is used by both the school and for external lettings.
