The project involved erection of an acoustic partition wall to the front reception office, internal redecoration and structural works to extend the reception window hatch.
Barker Associates provided early design advice and measured survey drawings, along with in-house structural calculations. Following Contractor appointment, Barker Associates continued to oversee the project and undertake formal progress meetings on a bi-weekly basis.
The programme was restricted to the school's summer holidays. Consequently, this required Barker Associates to have careful co-ordination with the Client and Contractor to ensure the project reached practical completion within the timeframe.
The project was completed in August 2018 and resulted with the Client able to utilise large parts of empty space, along with a fresh look and significantly improved welcome facility.
This project without a doubt has been so well managed by Barker Associates. Since the office has been completed we feel the school looks more organised and fresh. Staff, parents and pupils have made very positive comments about the new layout. By splitting the open plan office into two new rooms, staff are able to ensure there is no confidentaility breach and pupil files are held in a locked room ensuring GDPR compliance.
