St Swithun's Church is a Grade II listed church. The project comprised detailed investigations to assess the cause of on-going water ingress that had caused the building to be included on the 'Heritage At Risk' Register. The subsequent repair works involved the full repointing of the tower with extensive re-build works to the flint/rubble walls and stonework dressings. Internally designs were produced for a new kitchenette and WC facilities, the WC has been installed as part of the Heritage Lottery Funding (HLF), with provision for the kitchenette allowed for when funds permit. Following completion of the work the building has been taken off the 'Heritage At Risk' Register.

Barker Associates were appointed to assist with the HLF submissions, ecclesiastical approvals , full design and specification, contract administration, quantity surveying and CDM services.

Client Testimonial

We have been pleased to work with Barker Associates on our project to repair St Swithun's Church tower and install new facilities. Their experience of HLF funded projects was valuable both in the application process and during the ups and downs of the project. We are delighted with the outcome and removal of our Church from the 'Heritage At Risk' Register.
