We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news: Tom Evans has officially achieved chartered status, becoming a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a proud member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)!
Tom has been with Barker since June 2018, beginning his career as a trainee Building Surveyor. In 2020, he made the decision to switch disciplines and completed his Quantity Surveying degree in June 2022. Since then, he’s been working hard towards this goal and this accomplishment is a testament to the time and energy he’s invested.
Sharing the news, Tom said:
“I am now a chartered member of the RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) and can call myself a Chartered Quantity Surveyor.
I qualified by going through the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) route, which involved two years of structured training before a final interview assessment with a panel of chartered assessors.”
He added:
“I’m really pleased to have passed and the hard work that has gone into the process has now finally paid off!”
“It was a difficult process which involved a lot of time dedicated to studying, and I’m grateful for having the resources within the office to assist with Q&As and mock interviews to help me prepare for the final interview.”
Huge congratulations to Tom on this well-deserved achievement!
We’re incredibly proud of the journey he’s taken and look forward to what’s next in his bright future at Barker.
