The Department for Education (DfE) has announced its allocation of the Condition Improvement Fund 2025/26 round. Total funding of just under £470 million for various school condition projects has been confirmed.
It is yet another successful year of CIF bids for Barker. Once again, we have helped secure a significant proportion of the total funding allocation for our clients. Successful projects range from a £80,000 drainage project to a £1.75M roofing project.
The DfE received requests for funding for 2,846 projects for this year’s round. A total of £470 million for 789 projects across 656 academies and sixth-form colleges has been allocated.
Robert Gould, Partner and Head of Funding Bids said:
Once again our team continues to support our clients to deliver high-quality Condition Improvement Fund Bids to finance urgent and important capital works to the school estate. There are now a busy few months ahead for the team where we can work together with the successful applicants to deliver these projects effectively.”
With the limited funding available, and the large number of applications received, unfortunately, not all projects were successful. Academies will be able to appeal the CIF 25/26 outcome via the portal before the deadline of 23rd June.
Our CIF consultants at Barker will be able to support those Academies looking to appeal their CIF bids.
Barker maintains an outstanding track record of CIF submissions with sector-leading success rates. We fully support both schools and multi-academy trusts beyond the bid submissions all the way through project planning, procurement and project delivery to enrich teaching and learning environments.
