The Department for Education (DfE) has announced its allocation of Condition Improvement Fund 2020/21 round.
It is yet another record year of CIF bids for Barker with a staggering £29.5 million funding secured for our academy clients. 83 of our bid submissions have been approved. Successful projects range from small safeguarding and fire safety projects to multi-million expansion schemes.
With the additional CIF funding that was later announced our funding secured increased to £36 million in total with a further 28 successful applications making Barker UK’s most successful CIF consultancy.
The DfE received requests for more than £1.45 billion for over 4650 projects to this year’s round. A total of £434 million for 1476 projects across 1234 eligible academies and sixth-form colleges has been allocated.
It is important to note that nearly 7% of the total national allocation has been won by Barker reflecting the thoroughness of our submissions.
Robert Gould, Partner and Head of Funding Bids said, `Given the recent events and uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 this CIF announcement provides a much-needed capital injection to the education estate. We are absolutely delighted with the outcomes for our clients, and we look forward to delivering these projects.
The limited funding available and the large number of applications received means that not all projects were successful. Academies will be able to Appeal the decision in September.
Barker will be able to support those academies looking to Appeal their CIF bids. For more information email or call us on 1279 647111.
Barker maintains an outstanding track record of CIF submissions with 85% success rate and we fully support our clients beyond the bid submissions all the way through project planning, procurement and project delivery to enrich their teaching and learning environments.
