Due to our continued success and growing business demands we currently have a vacancy for a Project Manager who is looking to develop their career, working on a great portfolio of projects varying in sector and size, with a specific focus on net carbon zero and decarbonisation capital programmes. The role is within our energy & sustainability team working alongside our in house designers, engineers and surveying teams.
The candidate will be taking on a key role in our energy, sustainability and decarbonisation work which is becoming an increasingly important part of our service offering in this critical and rapidly evolving sector.
Principal tasks:
Client facing activities including regular reporting & liaison.
Managing and leading a team of professionals including having a team of direct reports.
Coordinate multiple projects in a structured and balanced approach including management of third parties, contractors and sub-consultants.
Motivate team members and assesses performance, maintain deadlines, communicate company goals and provide training/support.
Overseeing Feasibility Studies.
Managing Tendering & Procurement.
Contract Administration and Project Management of programmes of work on site.
Maintain the high company standards through the management of the team.
Quality Assurance of project documentation, filing systems and safety practices.
Provide help to management, including training requirements, and to keep management updated on team performance.
Required qualities & skills:
Excellent client facing communication and organisational skills.
Good commercial acumen with the ability to track project finances and commercial reporting.
Ability to manage own workload within agreed time scales.
Assist with general office duties when other staff require help.
Ability to offer career development/ and support to assistant PM’s.
Deal with clients and staff politely and in a professional manner.
Present a professional face and assistance to all visitors, external professionals and clients.
Be able to work effectively to deadlines, both individually and as part of a team.
Experience working in the education & public sector.
Experience in energy management, energy efficiency project delivery and sustainable technologies.
Contract administration and JCT Contract knowledge would be welcomed.
Academic & Professional Qualifications Requirements:
RICS/APM/Prince 2 or similar Project Management Qualification is desirable but not essential depending on experience.
At least 5 years’ experience gained undertaking project management roles.
Full UK driving licence.
