Barker’s reputation for successfully delivering innovative lighting solutions to lower costs and reduce the impact on the environment, led to their appointment on the project. Barker’s approach was to identify opportunities for energy savings tailored to the Trust’s needs.
LED lighting systems offer fast return on investment. The longevity of LED lights significantly reduce the need for frequent maintenance, resulting in long-term cost savings and improved energy efficiency.
Barker procured the programme through a framework to obtain cost-competitive rates, ensuring the selected supplier met the quality criteria required.
When on site, Barker meticulously undertook contract administration duties to carefully manage contractor activities, subsequently resulting in successful project delivery.
Barker and the contractor, Energys Group delivered 6 LED projects within the client’s 6 week programme deadline. The client opted for overnight working, which facilitated term time working, with the school day operating as normal.
Lighting quality throughout the schools were significantly improved, reducing maintenance costs across its facilities and providing a comfortable, more productive learning environment for students and teachers.
