King’s Norton Boys’ School is a secondary school for pupils aged 11 to 16 located in Birmingham.
Barker was commissioned by ASHE Construction to carry out RIBA Stages 4 & 5 architectural and structural design for a new Sport England compliant four court sports hall, which included changing rooms and showers, disabled changing facilities and an office. The project also involved remodelling works to the existing changing rooms to form a new classroom.
The works were delivered under a design and build contract and were successfully completed in September 2020 via a highly collaborative team approach.
