We undertook refurbishment and remodelling of an old science block to create a state-of-the-art music and performing arts block for this prestigious London independent school.
We were tasked with converting an old science block into a vibrant, contemporary, acoustically-sound music and performing arts block. In response, our architectural team presented the client with a design that reflected their vision and brought it into fruition through seamless contract administration, engineering and project management.
The project involved creating 9 new music practice rooms, 2 music classrooms and a recital room for performances. Structural works were then undertaken to create new rooms within a new layout. Then the electrical supply was reconfigured. As acoustics were a critical aspect of the project, we installed robust partitioning to allow the practice and recital rooms to function to a high standard.
Through effective communication and coordination with the client and sub-contractors, and following strict timelines, the team were able to deliver the project within 3 months.
The new music and performing arts block greatly enhances the school’s music and performance teaching capabilities. The client was extremely happy with the overall outcome of the works.
