Barker has worked with Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Academies Trust (OLICAT ) since 2019, providing services from CIF bid writing through to provision of condition surveys, support around the Low Carbon Skills Fund, and Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme fund as well as feasibility on energy savings, specifically LED and PV schemes.
The Trust has transitioned to receipt of School Condition Allocation within the working relationship with Barker. Support has been provided to enable the Trust to work through all D1 condition related items highlighted by condition surveys undertaken by Barker.
Barker was selected due to our knowledge and experience of the Condition Improvement Fund, with a proven track record of securing successful CIF bids.
Barker successfully secured CIF funding to replace the fire alarm, and address compliance issues raised through Thomas Becket Catholic School’s Fire Risk Assessment, including replacement of fire doors.
Barker worked with the school to compile and submit a strong, and evidence-based CIF bid which was successful. The school was successfully granted £221,968 of CIF funding towards delivery of a total project cost of £259,433.78.
The team successfully addressed the defects raised in the school’s Fire Risk Assessment and achieved full compliance in terms of the fire safety at the school. Thomas Becket Catholic School now has a fully functioning and compliant fire alarm, with no defective fire doors throughout the site.
