Supporting the developer and Hyde housing association, Barker provided Civil Engineering services, for the resolution of infrastructure works within detail design for the proposed regeneration at Rochester Riverside.
Located in the heart of Rochester historical centre, the riverside development will offer 1,400 new homes (40% affordable housing rate), a new community based primary school, nursery, hotels, bars, healthcare facilities and a number of retail units, together with 4 hectares of open space including a 2.5km river side walkway. Based on this long-established brownfield site, which historically housed docks, the development posed a series of challenges, which included flood Zone 3 management.
