The Barker team undertook extension and refurbishment of a redundant police station to provide a new state-of-the-art treatment facility for this established veterinary practice.
Mercer and Hughes are a successful independent veterinary practice in Essex. Due to the company’s continual growth, they required new state of the art veterinary facilities. Barker was appointed to work closely with the client to fully understand their design and functional requirements including advanced medical services.
Barker managed the scheme from project inception to completion. This resulted in a large and bright reception area leading to two consultation rooms, a back of house pharmacy and a preparation room. Further facilities included an operating theatre, x-ray room, laundry, dog and cat kennels and office areas. Our architects added further value to the project by incorporating a first floor, one-bedroom apartment utilising space that could not be used as part of the surgery.
