In June 2016, Barker was commissioned to provide project management, cost consultancy and client advisory services for the client. The project formed phase 2 of the commercial development at Thremhall Business Centre.
During the first leg of the project, full planning permissions and listed building consent was granted. Barker’s team were then appointed to manage the process of project design, development, tender and construction delivery. We worked alongside an external team of consultant architects, structural/civil engineers, mechanical/electrical, approved inspector and principal designer consultants on this project.
The construction of buildings 1 and 2 was successfully completed in September 2019. Each building was constructed using bespoke architectural design provided by Cowper Griffith Architects. Buildings 1 and 2 were designed within a traditional valued barn style and offered modern office accommodation. Building 3 was designed with a modern architectural pastiche, offering a mix of office accommodation, cafeteria facilities and a gym/training suite. Building 4 was a forward-thinking design, with an inverted roof design and large glazed panels. This building will be used for events, seminars and commercial opportunities such as wedding receptions.
All 4 buildings were designed to complement the previous Phase 1 development at Thremhall. Each offers a wide range of opportunities for existing and future clients in a vibrant and superbly located commercial development close to the Stansted corridor.
